Seoul has always been my inspiration. It remains, to me, the most edgy fashion environment of all time.
Even when I was creating my fashion brand Aligne, Seoul was my greatest inspiration. For a long time, that was the handwriting of the brand. And it’s those pieces that I’m still wearing today.
I would take Seoul over Paris, New York, Milan and dare I say even London. I could dress Seoul style every day and never get bored.
There’s something about it. Something I can’t quite put into words but I’ll try.
Maybe it’s the tension between androgyny and sensuality that makes Seoul style so compelling. It’s not trying to be one thing. It’s confidently both. And maybe that’s the most honest representation of how many of us actually live. Recognising that to survive, we have to tap into our masculine and our feminine side. Seoul style gets that.
That’s what keeps me coming back.
Autumn 26 was absolutely on point. Fresh but wearable. Exciting but effortless. The same kind of vibes Tolu Coker was giving me at the London Fashion Week show, which also felt inspired by Korean fashion. An influence that’s literally everywhere right now.
